The Future status of English is assured

Since globalization era, the appearance of language in the world is growing rapidly. Several improvements to its content have been made. A new language has been created gradually. Nowadays, English is a prototype of prominent language which is used by not only people from its origin but also others. Even though this language is so popular, some people still doubt of its status. Whereas lots of people distrust the English status in the future, personally I believe that the future status of English as a global language is assured due to several reasons.

People who distrust the English status in the future declare that learning English is hard, the numerous new words also born gradually. However, I believe every single language need a process to be learnt. New words may come out, but the grammatical rule of English itself will not be changed. Moreover, it is easy to find English everywhere now day. The born of internet access is widely spread all over the world. People from all age has been used this feature and the recent updated pages are in English. So, it is easy to learn this language comparing with others which appeared fewer.

Some also affirm that the Mandarin—Chinese official language has also a potential to become more noticeable by people in the future regarding its numerous population of speaker as well as the economy growing rapidly there. Nonetheless, I agree that Mandarin will be gain lots of popularity in the future, but doesn’t mean it will overwhelm the English popularity; Economy is not the only thing which needs to be concerned. Entertainment, for instance, also put as a consideration of the language application. English spreads globally through movie, music, etc. Who doesn’t know Hollywood movie? Who doesn’t recognize a legendary musician like Michele Jackson? So the exposure of English in that part is likely inevitable.

The last argument from the opponent is they feel it is not so important to learn English because they have to protect their mother tongue from the extinction. They put as example countries such as Germany and China that have tried to ban the use of many words in English. But believe it or not, the possibility to ban the exposure of English is not as simple as it sounds. There are too many English words as well as the phrases that have been added to our native language as part of it. In Indonesia for example, many words like: AC, Wi-Fi, CD, Pink, flash dish, memory card, computer, tablet, PC, game, T-shirt, etc, are commonly heard. Those words are English. This language has been genuinely immersed within others unconsciously and will be more in the future
